Rex Linn and Reba McEntire are Happy’s Place the cutest couple!
Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at NBC’s Comedies Celebration with PEOPLE and Entertainment Weekly, Linn opened up about what it’s like to be on set with his longtime girlfriend.
His Happy’s Place Costar Melissa Peterman was the first to say how “lovely” it was to see the lovebirds sharing little moments together while filming the highly-anticipated sitcom.

“We often take a five-minute break or have breakfast or lunch and eat a bar,” she recalled. “You look over and they’re in a booth at a bar and it looks like they’re legitimately on a date at a restaurant, just sitting together and they’re so adorably cute.”

Despite the secretive moments, Peterman said, “They’re also very professional about it.”
“I mean, it’s really sweet, but at the same time, as soon as we go back to work, you go back to work and make her run all the time,” she added, pointing at Linn.

“We always have lines,” Linn replied, blushing. “But every now and then I’ll sneak in a quick kiss, just peck him on the cheek and move on. It’s fun.”
Peterman joked, “I do that with her too,” though she doesn’t quite get “the same reaction.”

McEntire and Linn have known each other since 1991, but their relationship didn’t become romantic until 2020. The two reconnected after her mother’s death and bonded during quarantine. They soon started dating and have been together ever since.

“He was in Los Angeles and I was in Oklahoma because my mom had just died,” McEntire recalled of how they became more than friends. “We didn’t get to see each other from March to June, but we would talk via Zoom and FaceTime four to five times every day. We created a bond and an intimacy that was dating without being physical.”

While McEntire said she’s “really not interested in finding love again” after her 2015 divorce from ex-husband of 26 years, music manager Narvel Blackstock, she couldn’t be happier to have Linn in her life.
– He is the love of my life – she said. – We are quite inseparable.
