Seehorn was born on May 12, 1972 in Virginia Beach, Virginia to Marlene Walters. She grew up in Japan, Arizona and Washington, DC. She has always loved to draw and paint since she was a child. Although she wanted to pursue a career in the visual arts, she secretly wanted to be an actress. She graduated in art from George Mason University in 1994.
Her father, who encouraged her to follow her dreams, passed away while she was in college. To pay tribute to her father, she decided to devote herself to her passion and signed up for acting classes.
