RHOBH: Dorit Says PK’s ‘Passes’ and Her ‘Patience’ Are All ‘Used Up’ at Couple’s Therapy While Discussing Her PTSD

Dorit Kemsley and Paul “PK” Kemsley get candid about how her PTSD issues are at the root of some of their problems.

In Wednesday’s episode The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Dorit, 47, and PK, 56, invited a couples counselor into their home to work out some of their marital problems. In the session, Dorit opened up about her PTSD after the 2021 robbery and how it affected their marriage.

“My biggest problem was that after the home invasion, I really needed PK,” she admitted in an on-camera interview. “And he’s been traveling the whole time. He wasn’t here for me, not physically, not emotionally, really. The passes, the patience—that’s spent now. Time for him to show up.”

Dorit began by explaining that she didn’t feel like PK understood the “seriousness” of her PTSD. She especially remembered when, at the beginning of the season, an English businessman organized a surprise for their anniversary at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.

“I tried to tell you and you just reacted very defensively,” she admitted before PK cut her off, “Is PTSD asking you to talk about it there?”

When Dorit took offense to his questioning manner, he noted that he did not take well to the fact that Dorit shared her grievances with a surprise during their anniversary dinner.

“There’s not a fucking husband in the world that would take kindly to what she said, when she said it after what I just did. Do you understand? I felt like, ‘f— you,'” he continued.

As Dorit and their therapist began to explain the nature of her PTSD and where her anxiety comes from, PK admitted that there are “elements that I understand” and “elements that I don’t consider PTSD.”

“I find them more disgusting,” he added, noting that she has become “more high-maintenance” over the years. The conversation got a little heated and Dorit tried to bring things back to the specific “triggers” that affected her PTSD.

“It’s like I’m a whole new person and there’s nothing I can do about it. Do you have any idea how hard that is? And what’s it like to live with that?” she sighed noting that she wanted PK to comfort her when she informed him of her “episodes”.

“These are the times that really test your relationship. This is a particularly bad time where I need PK, not the other way around. He’s very short,” Dorit told the cameras before PK revealed that he was struggling to balance business and his personal life in his own confessional.

The real estate professional told his wife he had an overwhelming desire to understand her PTSD, but asked Dorit to give him the opportunity to fully understand the severity of her new triggers.

“You also have to try to articulate it just a little bit more calmly and a little bit less irritated by it,” he added, growing emotional. “Do you understand? Because I don’t want to irritate you. I want to understand you. It makes me emotional because you know I don’t mind.”

While comforting her on-screen husband, Dorit told the cameras, “What I needed was for PK to not only better understand what I’m going through, [but also] that you want to be there for me If we can do it together, to him when I succeed. If he can’t, I don’t know what the future holds.”
