Britani Bateman is stirring the pot.
During the January 8 episode The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Britani was caught filming the women arguing during their acting trip to Mexico. While they were arguing in the car, Angie Katsanevas saw Brittany’s camera recording the seat in front of her before quickly turning it off.
“Brittani, why are you recording the conversation?” Angie asked. “Turn off that fucking phone. With people fighting in the back.”
Britani denied that she was filming for that purpose, claiming that she was trying to send her daughter a video of herself. However, the other ladies did not accept the excuse.
“She has to go. I’ve had enough,” Meredith Marks stated, still upset after Brittany told everyone she heard Meredith crying and throwing up in her room the night before.
“I’m trying to delete it!” Britani then screamed, saying she had “never” posted or sent the videos of the women to anyone.

After last season ended with Monica Garcia admitting that she was on the gossip show Reality Von Tease that released undercover videos of former cast member Jen Shah, Heather Gay pointed out how the Brits feel bullied.
“It’s literally the worst invasion of privacy imaginable,” Heather said in her confessional. “We are deeply traumatized by friendly betrayals and something like this just brings everything to the surface.”

Back in the car, Whitney Rose added, “We don’t even do that to each other when we hate each other.”
Britani shot back, saying: “Obviously there’s a trigger here so look at all my photos.”
“Clearly we can see who’s in trouble here and it’s not me,” Meredith interjected as the ladies lashed out at each other.
Things got even more heated when Britani was asked again if she was going to send the tapes to anyone, and she changed the story: “I was saving them for later.”

When called out, Brittany claimed, “I don’t know those things!”
“I’m so sick of having you in my home,” Meredith said.
Heather even expressed regret for bringing Britani into the group: “I was her friend, but now I’m ashamed and embarrassed that I introduced her to all my friends and put them in this horrible situation. This is indefensible.”
Before everyone got out of the car, Lisa Barlow exclaimed, “I’ll never trust you again. I’ll be worried every time I’m with you, you’re filming me, and I bet you already are.”

Over lunch, Britani revealed that she kept her physical relationship with on-again, off-again boyfriend Jared Osmond a secret and that it made her act, although she didn’t admit that she deliberately filmed the conversation in the car.
Heather encouraged the other women to listen to Brittany, though she reminded her that there was no excuse for her behavior.
“These are the women who bridged me out of the space you’re in,” Heather said. “My neighbors are Mormons. My best friends are Mormons, my grandparents, my extended family, everything I know, my world is Mormon, and in my world I have no value. I am a failure. I’m a joke. And those women told me that was not true. But you have to be honest and you can’t film us. We are just vulnerable with each other.”

Later in the episode, Meredith asked Heather to help her search the room, wondering if there were recording devices hidden inside.
“If she could hear my cough, she would have heard my whole conversation with my husband. I feel disturbed,” Meredith said, claiming all Brittany heard were coughing sounds. “I wouldn’t have remembered that except today, she’s filming us on the bus. Did she leave something in my room?”
After looking around, the two didn’t find anything suspicious, but Meredith decided to bring it up to Brittany at dinner that night.
“I think that’s a reasonable and rational question when I’ve heard zero elsewhere,” Meredith said. “Right? Answer the question. Did you put a recording device in my room?”
“That’s the funniest thing I’ve ever heard in my entire life,” Brittany replied to an unimpressed Meredith. “Absolutely not.”
