On May 14, Lionsgate and Grindstone Films debuted a trailer for Longing exclusively with PEOPLE.

Daniel is further shocked when he learns that Alan was recently killed in a car accident, leaving him desperate to learn more about his son’s life.
The trailer shows Daniel traveling to Alan’s school and meeting his best friend and girlfriend, as well as a teacher named Alice (played by Kruger, 47).
Soon, Daniel begins to understand the circumstances surrounding Alan’s death and the connections were more complicated than he realized – including that Alan’s girlfriend is pregnant and that he seems to have an inappropriate crush on Alice.
