Get ready for an all-out wedding war between Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell.
Debuts on Prime Video January 30, 2025. You are cordially invited stars Witherspoon, 48, and Ferrell, 56, as the warring representatives of two different weddings who happen to be double-booked at the same venue.
As its synopsis indicates, “When both sides decide to share a small place, chaos ensues and disaster awaits.”

A new teaser trailer reveals some of that chaos, with Witherspoon’s character trying to plan the perfect wedding for her sister (played by Meredith Hagner) and Ferrell’s character doing the same for his daughter’s (Geraldine Viswanathan) nuptials — while battling cramped rooms, disgruntled guests and live alligator.

You are cordially invited was written and directed by Nicholas Stoller, who brought comedy I’m forgetting Sarah Marshall, neighbors and brothers on the big screen.
The trailer shows glimpses of Witherspoon and Ferrell’s star cast, including Celia Weston, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Leanne Morgan, Stony Blyden, Rory Scovel, Ramona Young and Jimmy Tatro. Jack McBrayer stars as a resort concierge who uncovers confusion on an island off the coast of Georgia.

Speaking with Harper’s Bazaar last year Witherspoon considered acting and producing comedies like You are cordially invited and her 2023 Ashton Kutcher rom-com Your place or mine. “I think the human capacity to deal with so much heartbreak and tragedy that has happened in the world is really diminished,” she said at the time.
“I think about opportunities to make movies and TV shows that are happy, upbeat, funny… I think about what I want to see on a Friday night, and while I can appreciate a true crime series or a podcast, I really need a little levity. I think the world is looking for some brightness.”
Morgan, a comedian who like Witherspoon hails from Tennessee, told PEOPLE in September that everyone in her first feature “answered my questions. They were so sweet and encouraging. I fell in love with everyone on that set, from the masters who were cooking, to the little PAs.”
Witherspoon, a “living doll,” Morgan added, suggested her for the role of her older sister. “That little thing believes in me.”
