Who is Richard Keys?
Richard Keys is an English sports presenter known for his work with various media including the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky, Talksport, Al Jazeera, Fox Sports, ESPN Star Sports and BeIN Sports. He was born on April 23, 1957. During his career, he followed numerous high-profile football matches.
Keys began his career in 1976 at Fleet Street Sports Agency Hayter’s in London, where he worked until 1978. He then moved to Liverpool and worked as a football commentator on Radio City. In 1982 he moved to Manchester to work as a sports editor and football commentator on Radio Piccadilly.
In 1984, Keys returned to London and joined the ITV network as one of the main presenters of the TV-am breakfast show. During his time at TV-am he also commented on football matches for ITV and covered cycling for Channel 4, including two Tours de France.
Keys was a presenter for the Sports Channel on British Satellite Broadcasting (BSB) in the early 1990s. When BSB merged with Sky in 1991, the channel became Sky Sports. Since then, Keys has presented Sky Sports’ coverage of Premier League football, including the main Super Sunday show. He also hosted Sky’s Monday Night Football, which coincided with Sky’s acquisition of UEFA Champions League rights. In addition, he headlined all of Sky Sports’ Champions League coverage.
