In Season 11, Herrmann’s character takes a sad turn when his wife, Cindy, played by Robyn Coffin, is diagnosed with lung cancer. In episode 11, titled The Guy I Used to Know, it was revealed that she had been coughing for a while before being told she had a heartbreaking illness.
Understandably Herrmann was shocked by the news as he said, “I’m a firefighter. I’m in smoke and chemicals all day. I’m the one who should have lung cancer, not her.”

Cindy’s illness led some fans to speculate that this could mean Herrmann’s departure from Firehouse 51, with one fan on Reddit saying, “They made up the plot about Cindy’s cancer. as a means for Herrmann to escape the firehouse.
However, this theory was disproved when, fortunately, Cindy’s treatment was successful and she was declared cancer-free. Here’s hoping Herrmann and his family do better in Season 12.

When will the 12th season of Chicago Fire be released?
While we know season 12 is underway, fans may have to wait a little longer. First, the program has faced setbacks due to budget cuts, and it was reported via Deadline that A Chicago As a result, the franchise is aiming for some changes in the cast.
The report claims that the agreed budget, which will keep the shows from airing for another season, means the main cast will appear in fewer episodes than usual.

NBC also recently announced a fall schedule change due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.
