Ricki Lake reaches into her fashion archive.
On Thursday, the television host and actress posted an empowered mirror selfie on Instagram, modeling the Norma Kamali one-piece swimsuit she first wore in 2007 for a magazine cover shoot.
The Hair spray combines the fiery swimsuit, which features a sweetheart neckline and peplum waist, with high-top black loungewear. He’s also confidently rocking a makeup-free face and his slicked back gray bob long beard.
“I’ve been holding onto this #NormaKamali one-piece all these years wondering if I’ll ever be able to wear it again,” Lake captioned the before-and-after post, which also includes a pic of Us Weekly’s cover from 17 years ago.
She also added hashtags with empowering phrases, such as “no filter” and “this is 55.”

Lake’s announcement comes amid her health and fitness journey, which she started four months ago alongside her husband Ross Burningham.
“On October 26, 2023, I made a commitment to be healthier,” she wrote on Instagram, adding that she and Burningham have lost 30+ lbs. since then.
Lake continued, “I really want to share, because we did this without relying on medicine. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.) But neither of us was prediabetic, and we both felt like we wanted to at least try to do it ourselves.”

Shen then explained that now that she’s in her mid-50s and in the perimenopausal phase of her life, she’s “concerned” that her body “won’t shed the pounds like it did in the past.”
“I’m so proud of us. I feel amazing. I feel strong,” she concluded in a message accompanied by several photos, including a mirror selfie in which she poses in leggings and a bra, revealing her weight transformation.

Last June, Lake spoke of “total self-acceptance” as she shared a nude photo of herself sitting in a bathtub.
“Hands on heart, these days are the best of my life,” she wrote at the time. “54 1/2 years old (young!) Grateful for everything that had to happen to get here. A place of complete self-acceptance and self-love.”
