Rihanna is a Met Gala veteran in her own right, having made her debut at the fashion event in 2009 wearing an ethereal white Georges Chakra crystal-embellished halter gown.

Since then, she has appeared on the red carpet more than a dozen times. Some of her best looks have become iconic in Gala history, most notably her Pope-inspired Maison Margiela Artisanal by John Galliano look for the 2018 “Heavenly Bodies” theme.

Rihanna wore a massive white Maison Valentino gown with a long, sweeping train and a matching cape covered in textured rosettes. She completed the look with opera-like fingerless gloves and a pair of white sunglasses with false eyelashes attached.
