Interview with Riley Gaines

Whenever there is controversy in sports about transgender athletes, transgender swimmer Lia Thomas is at the center. Lia competed for the University of Pennsylvania men’s swim team. After hormone replacement therapy, she competed in the women’s team competition.

As soon as Lia started swimming as a swimmer, she started setting records. Riley Gaines and Lia Thomas competed in the final of the 200 free at the NCAA Championships. Gaines has always been against Lia competing in the women’s division.

Riley was recently interviewed by Amy DeLaura of The Washington Examiner. In the interview, she stated:

Amy asked Riley Gaines about the chances she lost from swimming with a transgender person. The diver replied:

“First of all, I think what obviously caught us all off guard was the situation in the locker room that completely disrupted our match. It was a total distraction, and swimming is quite mental, so when you get there you’re ready. to swim fast. But you have someone with male genitalia pulling down your pants, watching you strip. It baffles you.”
