Rita Bhaduri, 62 years old (born November 4, 1955), is an Indian actress from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. Her father is yesteryear supporting actress Chandrima Bhaduri, who aspired to become an actress from an early age.

She studied acting at the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) in Pune, where her classmate was actress Zarina Wahab, wife of Aditya Pancholi. Initially, she played supporting roles in many Bollywood, Gujarati and other regional films in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. Thereafter, she turned her attention to the world of television and became a household name by playing the role of a mother or grandmother in various television shows.

Rita Baduri always wanted to be an actress. She started her acting career in the late 1960s and later opted for an acting course at the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) in Pune. After passing out from FTTI, she immediately landed a supporting role in the movie without any struggle. She has acted in many Gujarati and other regional language films as well as Bollywood films such as Julie, Virasat, Raja, Hero No 1, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, Kya Kehna and Beta.

She was nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the film Raja (1995), starring Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Kapoor. She has always considered Bollywood to be a male-dominated industry, which is why she gradually shifted her focus from films to television for better roles. In the television world, she is mainly popular for playing older characters. Her most famous TV serials include Chunauti, Amaanat, Kumkum, Choti Bahu, Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai, Hudd Kar Di, Khichdi and Nimki Mukhiya (which was her last serial).

She has been suffering from kidney ailments for a long time and is undergoing treatment at Surje Hospital in Veleipalle, Mumbai. She took her last breath after cardiac arrest at around 1:45 pm on July 17, 2018.
