Look for Rita Moreno on the Oscars red carpet!
The 96th Academy Awards are less than a week away, and the 92-year-old actress – who will present at the ceremony on March 10 – has been teasing her “extraordinary” and “different” look on the red carpet.
While appearing on Today on monday morning story from the west side star told co-host Hoda Kotb to look her up at the awards — “’cause I’m gonna wear a dress that will knock your socks off.”
The legendary actress — who also revealed she’ll be bringing her daughter and friend Fernanda Luisa Gordon to the Oscars — accidentally misinformed Kotba about the designer of the dress, telling her it would be Dolce&Gabbana.
But she clarified the news about the dress, which is actually a Badgley Mischka creation, later in the program.

“I have to clear something up right now,” she said on the Today show. “Badgley Mischka! That’s the dress I’m wearing to the Oscars. I’m 92 years old and have gotten confused before Today, this show. And I’m sure someone will just kill me.”
She went on to say that the dress will be “amazing” – and hinted that fans can expect her to do something very different to what they’re used to.
“I’m going to wear an amazing dress to the Oscars,” she told the ensemble hosts, continuing her iconic 2022 red carpet look.

And, like her 2022 Oscars look — which Moreno joked was “not bad for an old lady” — her 2024 dress will be black, she revealed.

“He’s black too, but he’s so stunning. I can’t wait,” she said of the Badgley Mischka creation. “And I’m going to do something completely different with my hair. I won’t say what, but it will be very different.”
But Moreno – who tucked her gray locks into a boa headpiece in 2022 – hinted at “something” she’s doing with her hair, saying Today hosts can expect to see some red.
