The 76th Cannes Film Festival was an exciting experience for Wes Anderson’s cast and crew asteroid cityall brought their A-game on the red carpet.
They joined them small planet Hollywood power couple and cast Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, along with their 28-year-old son Truman Hanks.

However, their much-loved adorable display was quickly overshadowed by viral photos of them apparently having a heated argument with an employee on the carpet, which many on social media claimed were “brief” or “angry”.

Wilson, 66, was displeased and quickly took to social media to clarify the photos, explaining that they were just moments of confusion.

Alongside a screenshot of a newspaper that ran the story, she wrote: “This is called ‘I can’t hear you. People are screaming. What do you say? Where are we going?’
“But that didn’t sell the manga! Keep it up. We’ve done it! Go see it asteroid city!”

Aside from a brief moment of embarrassment, the pair were a resounding success, as Hanks, 66, often stepped aside to let his 35-year-old wife shine in a gorgeous black gown.

They feature the director and the rest of the glittering main cast, including Maya Hawke, Scarlett Johansson, Adrien Brody, Rupert Friend, Bryan Cranston, and more.

The film hits theaters on June 16, with its premiere at the prestigious French film festival, following Hanks’ debut novel, Making Another Great Movie, which was released on May 9.

In an interview with the BBC on May 8, the actor shared his thoughts on the criticism and he accepted it easily.

He acknowledges his privilege as one of Hollywood’s most powerful and popular stars: Unlike most authors, he published his novel without rigor. of agents, publishers, rejection, and endless rewriting, simply saying, “That’s not fair.”

However, Hanks says most of the critical feedback doesn’t faze him — he’s used to it thanks to “his day job as a movie star…[I am] stronger when the tear actually occurs.”
The novel’s 448-page synopsis says it’s “an incredibly ambitious story about creating a massive, multi-million dollar superhero action movie, featuring the the star and the humble comic book that inspired them all.”

The book also features many eccentric characters, including an eccentric director and a struggling actor, and the two-time Oscar winner admits they are those people in a variety of situations.

“I personally performed every moment of that behavior on set. Not everyone is at their best every day on set,” he said.
