Riteish Deshmukh was born on 17 December 1978 in Latur, Maharashtra, India (age 43 years 2021). He studied at GD Somani Memorial School, Mumbai, and Kamala Raheja College of Architecture, Mumbai, where he received a degree in architecture. Deshmukh then went abroad for a year to engage in architectural practice. He owns Evolution Architectural Design Studio Private Limited, an Indian architecture and interior design company. Later, he studied drama at the Lee Strasberg School of Theater and Film in California, USA.
One day, while Deshmukh was vacationing in London with Subhash Gay, cinematographer Kabir Lal pitched him his first film. This surprised him because he had never told anyone that he wanted to act.

Riteish has an elder brother Amit Deshmukh and a younger brother Dheeraj Deshmukh. Both are politicians and associated with the Indian National Congress. Ritesh himself is a loyal supporter of the Indian National Congress.
Riteish first met Genelia during the test shoot of “Tujhe Meri Kasam”. Genelia ignored him at first because she thought that as the CM’s son, he might be a spoiled child. However, the two grew close while filming the movie and began dating. Riteish dated Genelia for nearly ten years before marrying her on February 3, 2012. The couple has two sons. Their eldest son Riaan was born on November 24, 2014, and their younger son Rahyl was born on June 1, 2016.

Riteish started his film career in 2003 with K. Vijay Bhaskar’s “Tujhe Meri Kasam” opposite Genelia D’Souza. In the same year, he played the role of Jaswinder in the movie “Out of Control”.
In 2004, Deshmukh played a comedy role in the comedy-thriller Masti. His performance earned him two minor awards. His comic role in the film “Masti” established him as an actor. Ritesh’s first successful lead role was in the film “Kya Kool Hai Hum” with Tusshar Kapoor. He also made guest appearances in Darna Zaroori Hai and Namastey London.
Deshmukh then went on to star in successful films like “Housefull”, “FALTU” and “Double Dhamaal”. In 2012, he appeared in the film Tere Nall Love Hogya opposite Genelia D’Souza. Despite its low budget, the film was a commercial success. He also starred in his own film sequels “Housefull 2”, “Kya Super Kool Hain Hum” and “Grand Masti”.
In 2014, Deshmukh made his debut as a villain (villain) in the romantic thriller Ek-Villain. In the same year, he made his debut in Marathi films with Lai Bhaari.

- Soon after the Mumbai terror attacks, Ritesh was criticized for taking Ram Gopal Varma to visit the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai. Ritesh’s father, Vilasrao Deshmukh, was the chief minister of Maharashtra when the incident took place. The matter later became politicized and the visit is believed to have been facilitated by Vilasrao Deshmukh to cast Riteish Deshmukh in Ram Gopal Varma’s upcoming film based on the 26/11 attacks.
