As the daughter of an actor, Riva has always had a keen interest in acting. She studied acting with her father since she was a child. Riva always wanted to be an actress and received a year of acting training at Naseeruddin Shah’s acting troupe. She even worked with Shah’s daughter Heeba in a drama titled “Parindo Ki Mehfil”. After that, she moved to the United States and entered an acting academy to study acting for a year and a half.
In January 2020, she got married to Padmini Kolhapure and producer Pradeep Sharma’s son Priyaank Sharma, who made her Bollywood debut with the sitcom film Sab Kushal Mangal. The film also stars Bollywood actor Akshaye Khanna. The film was shot in Jharkhand for 45 days.
