Robert Irwin and Rorie Buckey go their separate ways.
The zookeeper and son of the late Steve Irwin, 20, and Buckey, 19, announced their split in posts they shared on their Instagram accounts on Friday.
“We wanted to share that we have decided to go our separate ways, but we deeply appreciate all the time we spent together and wish each other the best in the future,” the joint statement began.
“We want to express the gratitude and respect we have for each other as we continue our journeys down different paths,” Irwin and Buckey continued.
They added: “We will not be commenting further on this and really appreciate your respect and privacy at this time.”

Who is Robert Irwin’s girlfriend? All about Rorie Buckey
Irwin and Buckey — who is studying physiotherapy at Curtin University in Perth, Australia and is the niece of the late actor Heath Ledger — were first linked in November 2022.
They then went public with their relationship in July 2023, when they attended the film’s premiere in Sydney Mission: Impossible – Reckoning of the dead, part one together.
The former couple later made their red carpet debut when they attended the 2023 Earthshot Awards in Singapore in November of that year, which celebrates innovative efforts to combat climate change.
During the event, Prince William was pictured shaking hands with Irwin as the pair exchanged welcoming smiles.

Buckey and Irwin haven’t been shy about showing their love for each other on social media amid their relationship.
In September 2023, Buckey shared a cute video of the pair posing together in New York. “R&R take NYC!! 🌟”, she wrote under the duo’s black and white boomerang.
In the same month, Irwin also shared a carousel post of the couple taking a picture together.
Later in October, Irwin’s sister, Bindi Irwin, shared a photo of friends and family, which included Buckey.
“My brother’s beautiful girlfriend, @roriebuckey,” she wrote in the caption. “The sweetest soul, a beautiful friend, I love her so much and you’ll usually see Grace just follow her around because she adores her.”
