Robin Cosplay Turns DC Vigilante into Gotham’s First Jedi

The worlds of Star Wars and DC Comics have never met on the page, but in a new Bat-Family cosplay, DC’s iconic Batman sidekick and Boy Wonder extraordinaire, Robin, becomes Gotham City’s first Jedi in a way that will make fans clamor for a real-life version of a cosplay mashup that’s too good to ignore.

Posted on Instagram by username @visionarts, this account consistently shares cosplay designs that run the full spectrum of nerd characters that fans know and love. Taking on not only Star Wars and DC Comics, but @visionarts also shows off his creative takes on characters from Marvel Comics like Spider-Man and Iron Fist, while dabbling in the worlds of Spawn, Invincible, and even the film franchise juggernaut that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe too!

A character who in most of their incarnations would be a shoo-in for becoming a Jedi (sorry Jason Todd and Damian Wayne fans, but they’re on the Sith list more often than not), Robin is a Gotham City vigilante that always finds ways to save the day regardless of the sacrifice needed to make that happen. Likewise, Star Wars’ Jedi Order is a group of peacekeepers turned generals turned hunted prey that also never give up on making the galaxy a safer place to live, with this Star Wars and DC cosplay mashup marrying the two to epic results.

Adding his unique Star Wars flair to a Robin cosplay that’s already a spot-on recreation of the fan-favorite character, @visionarts shows off their Jedi design across four different images that capture the spirit of a Jedi Robin perfectly. Photographed and collaborated on by and with a handful of other creators, @visionarts images immediately give fans what they never knew they wanted for the character: a Robin armed with the most iconic weapon in the Star Wars franchise, a lightsaber. Holding the saber up to his face and body to highlight his impeccable cosplay design as well as the epic visual of Robin swinging around an energy sword, @visionarts best image comes from a shot where he holds a blue-hued lightsaber up in a fighting stance that screams Jedi Knight. Drenched in blue saber light, @visionarts’ Robin glows with a hopeful aura that leaves fans wondering what Force powers he might unleash on the next unlucky bad guy he comes across, completing this cosplay look in a truly epic way.

So while it’ll take some crazy corporate gymnastics to make a Star Wars x DC Comics crossover happen in comics, @visionarts pulls off a cosplay that brings these two franchises together in spectacular fashion. The Jedi are always in need of another hand in helping to spread peace across a galaxy far, far away, and after seeing Robin brandishing a lightsaber as Gotham’s defender, the Jedi Council would be hard-pressed to find a better-suited candidate in Batman’s best sidekick.
