Rod Stewart just can’t leave Las Vegas!
On Wednesday, March 12, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, 80, began his limited residence “The Encore Shows” at the Caesars Palace with a mix of huge hits, favorites of fans and tunes he simply loves.
During the 100-minute show, Stewart, 80, naturally took out songs like “Forever Young”, “Yes Ya, think I’m sexy?” And “It’s Night Tonight,” but also entered some deeper cuts like “Mandolin Wind” from 1971, hugged several swing songs and sang a bunch of cover, including the songs of Harold Melvin and Blue Notes, Cat Stevens and John Fogerty.
“I’m a little nervous,” Stewart admitted early in the show before joking for 15 minutes, “I know what I’m doing now.”

Of course, the performance is Old Hat for Stewart, who began his solo career in 1969. He also admitted that the two of his most famous songs – which he performed – sound similar, which is not accidental.
“” You wear it well, “and” Maggie May “are very similar and there is a reason for that,” he said. “After ‘Maggie May’, said the record label,” Can you write us a number 1 like “Maggie May?” So I wrote ‘wear good’, but people love it. You loved. I loved it. ”
In a somewhat evening topic, Stewart also honored his influences.
“Growing up, what I still do, I always listened to the 1960s,” he said before paying respect to the muddy waters of the performance “Rollin” and Tumblin. ”

The show felt very like the evening of Karaoke with a genus Stewart – some songs were his own, some were not. The audience, which stood on their feet most of the evening, didn’t care a little.
For a rock icon, the performance in Vegas is nothing new, because Wednesday marked the 200th time he entered the stage at the Caesars Palace. Stewart began his residence “Hits” 2011, and continued until August 2024. After his 199 August shows, Stewart announced that he would start a shorter residence with a 12 show called “The Encore Shows”, which will be switched off on June 8th. As expected, there were similarities between shows, such as the despair of his beloved Celtic football club in Glasgow. In the past, Stewart would hit the football ball in the crowd, but he now gently throws them into the crowds.

All in all, the genus relied on his iconic crucifixion, his impressive orchestra with 19 people (14 of whom were women) and excitement about the crowd.
“I enjoy it so much. I’m so privileged, “he said as the crowd of 4,100 howled.
Late in the show, Stewart recognized the Golden Record on stage by Caesars, to mark his 200th Colosseum exhibition. Then a drawer of Wolfie’s whiskey was performed, which the singer founded. “I’ll have a whiskey shooting,” he told the audience. After throwing the key quickly, he simply shrugged and said, “Showbiz.”
Last August, the genus talked to people about bringing their own whiskey to the market, noting, “It’s not as easy as I thought it would be.”
