Ron Desantis News

According to Al Jazeera, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis officially began his bid for the presidency on Thursday in a shaky, hiccup-filled Twitter broadcast.

The following tweet was posted by DeSantis on Thursday: “I’m running for president to lead our Great American Comeback.” In his election speech, DeSantis stated: “We need the courage to lead, and we must have the strength to win.”

You can set your clock to January 20, 2025 at noon if you nominate me because I will be taking the oath of office as the 47th president on the west side of the US Capitol, he stated.

According to Al Jazeera, the broadcast, which featured right-wing businessman David Sacks and Twitter CEO Elon Musk as hosts, initially struggled on several occasions.

Someone might be heard questioning early on, “It just keeps crashing, huh?” Later, the hosts blamed “scaling issues” for the technical troubles. One of the hosts can be heard remarking, “Just a massive number of people online.” “Servers are therefore under some pressure.”

DeSantis has previously registered to run for president with the federal electoral authorities in the United States. Al Jazeera claims that by doing this, he officially enters the race for the Republican candidature in 2024. Al Jazeera reports that he filed with the Federal Election Commission on Wednesday before he was anticipated to make a formal announcement on Twitter later that day.

DeSantis has been viewed for months as former President Donald Trump’s most formidable opponent. Trump is also vying to be the Republican nominee to face Democratic President Joe Biden in 2018. Senator Tim Scott, former UN envoy Nikki Haley, and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy are all Republican contenders.

Mike Pence, the former vice president who worked for Trump, is also most likely to run for president. Trump supported DeSantis during his initial run for governor of Florida in 2018, and since then, as he has pushed for right-wing legislation there, he has gained national notoriety among conservatives.

According to recent polls, DeSantis would significantly trail Trump in a hypothetical primary debate. The Florida governor, however, will be aiming to reduce the gap in the upcoming months, according to Al Jazeera, as the former president is currently dealing with legal issues, including criminal accusations in New York.
