Facts/Trivia

  • Roshni Nadar is a trained classical musician.
  • She is the only child of Shiv Nadar and Kiran Nadar.
  • Roshni became the CEO of HCL Tech at the age of 28. When asked how it felt to be the CEO of a renowned software company at the age of 28 and inherit a huge fortune from her father, Roshni replied:

The role came at the right time because although I was younger, I had spent more time with my father, which was important for me to understand and learn how to manage family wealth. My father also needed extra help, guidance and direction for the company at the time, so the role was a good fit. However, I was also a bit overwhelmed because soon after I became CEO, HCL suddenly had a huge cash outflow to fund some new initiatives that the Shiv Nadar Foundation was starting at the same time. So there was a huge interdependency between the company and the foundation. It took me a few months to adjust, but everything had to go on and I handled it well. ”
