Rosie O'Donnell Confirms Move to Ireland, Will Return to U.S. 'When It's Safe for All Citizens to Have Equal Rights'

Rosie O’Donnell confirmed that she no longer lives in the US

In a video of a Tictok published on Tuesday, March 11, the comedian confirmed that on January 15, she moved to Ireland with her 12-year-old child Clay, four days after seemingly teasing that she lived abroad in Instagram post.

“It was pretty wonderful, I have to say. People are so loving and so kind, so kind. And I’m very grateful,” O’Donnell said in a video of Tiktoca as she discovered her international move.

She said that “in the process” was obtaining Irish citizenship while her grandparents came from the country before they spread to the explanation of their move.

“I was never someone who thought I would move to another country, that’s what I decided to be the best for myself and my 12-year-old child. And here we are,” she said.

“You know, I’m happy. Clay is happy. I miss other children. I miss my friends. I miss many things about life at home and try to find home here in this beautiful country and when it is certain that all citizens have the same rights there in America, then we will consider a return,” she said.

She continued her video seemingly reference to changes in the country because President Donald Trump opened on January 20th: “It was hearty to see what happened to us personally political and difficult. She is personally politically, as we all know.”

O’Donnell said that everyone in Dublin, where he currently lives, were “friendly”. She also said that she “met a bunch of people” in almost two months since she moved, but she felt the need to share the news with her fans because he was “sorry for those of you who were worried and missed.”

“I just felt like we needed to take care of ourselves and make some difficult decisions and follow. And now as we settled, I was ready to publish this and tell everyone what was happening,” she said.

As she concluded a nine -minute video, O’Donnell shared a message with her fans. “Protect your reasonableness everything I can say. Protect your mind as much as you can, and try not to swim in chaos if possible, but I know it is almost impossible when you are there in the middle.”

She continued, “and I think about everyone every day and the United States of America. And I hope that we will be able to turn things, counting on you, all of you, do what is right. And I think deep inside, we all know what it is.”

O’Donnell’s confirmation of her relocation to Ireland comes after she hinted at a move in a series of posts on Instagram on March 7th. She shared a selfie from the car and wrote in the inscription that “she bought a little car used for tools by the village on the wrong side of the road.”

She also shared a photo of the clay in the back seat of a car with a backpack on the way to school, which further hinted at the move.
