Royal Ascot Fashion! Princess Eugenie Sports a Tassel Hat and Sophie Wears White on Wedding Anniversary

Princess Eugenie, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh and more make Royal Ascot a fashion show!

On June 19, Princesses Eugenie and Sophie were among the royals who stepped out to attend the second day of the equestrian event, where Queen Camilla led the carriages of the royal procession. Prince William reunited with his in-laws Carole and Michael Middleton for a long-running event on the royal family’s summer social calendar, which was also attended by Princess Anne, Prince Edward, Princess Beatrice, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Zara Tindall, Mike Tindall and Sarah Ferguson.

Eugenie, 34, arrived in style in the third carriage of the royal procession with her husband Jack Brooksbank, wearing a pale pink dress and matching hat with an oversized fringe. In a totally sisterly moment when they met in the Parade Ring, Beatrice, 35, carefully removed the fringe from Eugenie’s hat as it fluttered around in the summer breeze. Prince William, 41, appeared amused as he stood with his relatives.

Princess Beatrice and Zara, 43, wore long-sleeved dresses with a pink floral print and added headwear for the second day of Royal Ascot. The matching was back at May’s garden party at Buckingham Palace when Eugenie, Beatrice and Zara appeared in complementary combinations of pink and white.

Members of the British royal family are known to occasionally coordinate their outfits for events. Karen Haller, behavioral psychologist and author of the book A little coloring bookpreviously told MyLondon that the royal family’s habit of matching in shades of blue shows they “come together as a family, presenting themselves as a cohesive unit”.

Why Kate Middleton didn’t attend Royal Ascot after her big Trooping the Color comeback

Inside the Parade Ring on June 19, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s daughters were seen deep in conversation with Kate Middleton’s parents, Carole and Michael, who were also chatting with Prince William and Zara.

It was significant to see the couple at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire as it was their first public event since their daughter Princess Kate announced in March that she had cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy. The Princess of Wales, 42, did not attend Royal Ascot on June 19 after appearing at Trooping the Color on June 15, her first public appearance in almost six months.
