Ryan Cabrera and Alexa Bliss: All About the Singer and WWE Star’s Relationship

Ryan Cabrera and Alexa Bliss have been married since 2022.

The WWE superstar and the 2000s pop singer only met because they were rumored to be dating. After fans speculated they were an item, a mutual friend introduced them. Since then, they started dating, and Cabrera proposed a year later.

“Music is a constant in our house, so our favorite mornings consist of enjoying coffee, playing games and listening to Billie Holiday, [Frank] Sinatra or any acoustic music really,” they told PEOPLE in 2021 about their daily lives. “By the way, it’s not unusual for us to be in our cozy PJs ALL DAY!!! Let’s go comfortable instead of cold.”

As new parents, Bliss and Cabrera have the best excuse to stay in their pajamas all day. The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Hendrix Rouge Cabrera, in November 2023.

They met through a mutual friend

The WWE star and the pop star met for the first time in October 2019 at the premiere of WWE Smackdown in California. They were introduced by their mutual friend and fellow WWE star Michael “The Miz” Mizanin, who is best friends with Cabrera.

“It’s funny how we met. We met because of dating rumors,” Bliss revealed Podcast Bellas in 2020

“He liked one of my tweets and a fan saw it and opened up the whole Instagram where we were dating and tagged everyone in the company. People have been calling me, texting me and coming up to me saying, ‘Oh, you’re dating Ryan.’ I said, ‘I’ve never met the guy,'” she added.

Cabrera put a lot of effort into their unofficial first date

After the pair started chatting virtually in 2019, Cabrera asked Bliss out — but she was living in Florida at the time while he was in California. As fate would have it, Cabrera confirmed a performance in Orlando, her hometown, so he invited her to a concert to get to know her better and impress her.

Cabrera asked her out on a convenient date after the show ended, but to his surprise, she turned him down, despite enjoying his performance.

“I ended up going to the show and he asked me out after the show and I turned him down,” Nikki and Brie Bella told their podcast. “But we kept talking, and he was very patient and persistent, and we became amazing friends. It ended up being an amazing relationship. He’s so sweet and so amazing.”

Cabrera popped the question on Nov. 14, 2020. The couple was dining at an outdoor restaurant overlooking the water when he got down on one knee.

“Tonight was the best night of my life!! And that’s just the beginning!!!” Cabrera wrote in his Instagram Story along with a photo of him bleeding.

Bliss also posted the same photo on her Instagram profile and reminisced about their relationship. “A year ago we said goodbye, tonight I said YES 🖤 @ryancabrera,” she captioned the photo.

They got married in 2022

Bliss and Cabrera were married on April 9, 2022, at Kempa Villa in Palm Desert, California. The couple described their extravagant nuptials to PEOPLE as “very non-traditional” and “rock star” themed.

“It is very strong ourCabrera told PEOPLE details of the ceremony. “The whole thing is meant to highlight our personalities, and we’re far from normal.”

Bliss chose a couture blush gown by designer Netta BenShabu to walk down their hot pink wedding. The celebration was complete with a giant, light-up “Welcome to the S— show” sign.

While the WWE Superstar admitted he’s “not a writer” and doesn’t “want to follow” Cabrera’s wedding vows, Cabrera said the vows came to him in a dream.

“It was about 4 in the morning and I dreamed I was reading her vows,” he recalled. “I was crying uncontrollably, but I read the vows, and I said, ‘Oh, that’s a good thing!’ So I woke up in the middle of the night and started jotting it down. That led to writing more and more and more. I’ll probably tweak it until that day, but that’s just the writer in me… or I can just scratch and go at improvement.”

They celebrated their first anniversary in style

For their first anniversary, the couple gathered their family and closest friends to celebrate their big day with a 90s/2000s themed prom. Bliss even broke out her high school prom dress for the occasion, which took place at Heart WeHo in West Hollywood. Cabrera, meanwhile, has brought back his “circa 2004 hair look,” complete with straight spikes and locks.

“We wanted an excuse for everyone to get back together,” Bliss explained to PEOPLE at the larger-than-life anniversary celebration. “After somebody gets married, everybody goes off, they have kids, they live their lives, they’re busy with work, busy with life. We said, ‘We need a fun excuse for everything just to get back together and spend time together.’ ‘ ”

Bliss and Cabrera’s first child, daughter Hendrix Rouge Cabrera, arrived on November 27, 2023. They announced the big news in an Instagram video, where Cabrera wore a “Girl Dad” trucker hat and impersonated a WWE announcer.

“Weighing in at six pounds nine ounces, she’s 21 inches of fury, Hendrix Rouge Cabrera,” he could be heard saying in the video.

In May 2023, the couple announced that they were pregnant. Bliss and Cabrera posted photos of themselves blowing pink and blue balloons alongside the first ultrasound photo.

“The best moments in life are completely unexpected,” Bliss wrote on Instagram.

A few months later, the WWE student and “Photo” singer held a sex reveal party where they smashed a guitar to reveal they were having a girl.

Bliss is Cabrera’s musical muse

Music is a big part of the couple’s life. Cabrera incorporated music into their proposal, wedding and sex reveal — and Bliss even inspired some of his songs.

In September 2022, Cabrera released his single and music video for a song called “Worth It”, which was inspired by Bliss.

“When I met Lex, I was like, ‘I have to go to the studio, now I’m actually inspired,'” the singer said. “It led to writing a bunch of new stuff and enough that I now have an entire album’s worth. But I needed to meet her to inspire me. This song is it. This song was us. This song was about her. It was the first song that I wrote about her. It made my brain creatively like, ‘Oh my God, I have an idea for something else.’ This is just tailor-made for our love story.”

The single’s artwork is a photo from their wedding day. The music video also contains footage from the wedding.

“There was only one person I wanted to impress, per se, for this video, and that was Lex,” Cabrera told PEOPLE about the song and visuals. “When she saw just the first cut, she already liked it. So I said, ‘OK, OK, we’re going to be good. We’re going to be good.’ ”

Cabrera called the song “one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written,” adding that he gets emotional whenever he watches the music video.

Bliss appeared in season 9 Masked singer like an axolotl. Of course, Cabrera was there to offer musical advice to his wife.

“It was nice to have him as a guide through this world of music,” Bliss shared on Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef podcast. “Once I started to feel comfortable finding my voice and singing a little bit, every time I’d say, ‘Hey honey, do we need to practice something?’ He’d take the guitar off the wall right away. And he’s like, ‘Okay, what do you want to do?’ ”

Cabrera was “very helpful” and patient with his wife. He supported her in the anxiety she felt when facing her fear of singing in front of people and was able to help her relax and enjoy her time on the show.
