Ryan Sutter says he and wife Trista Sutter are “great” while also revealing that she is currently “unavailable” to her family.
In an Instagram post on Saturday, May 18, with a black and white photo of herself outdoors, the former reality TV star, 49, wrote: “Trista is fine. We are fine. We are great.”
“Trista is at a place in her life where she’s searching a bit,” he continued. “An opportunity presented itself that could help her in that quest. With the support of her family, she took it. Part of that process means she’s temporarily unavailable to us.”
“I miss him. We miss him,” Ryan concluded.

On Saturday, he also wrote an emotional message in a post with a black-and-white photo of the couple posing together.
“I really wish I could talk to you. Ask you how you are? How was your day,” he wrote. “I’d really like to hear your voice—just for a minute. I’ve called so many times without much to say, not realizing how lucky I was or how much I’d miss an opportunity if she were gone.”
It’s unclear where Trista is right now, but in one of his posts on Saturday, Ryan said he was writing what he felt and didn’t mean to “deceive or mislead” with previous posts.
The former firefighter met Trista (51) on the set of the first season of the series Bachelor, which aired in 2003, and the couple married in December of that year in a television special. They recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary and share two children, son Maxwell (16) and daughter Blakesley (14).

Less than a week before Ryan’s latest Instagram posts, he posted a series of Instagram photos for Mother’s Day on May 12, revealing that Trista was spending the day away from him and his kids.
“They say absence makes the heart grow fonder. I can only think of a few days where I haven’t, at least, spoken to this amazing woman,” read the caption of the first post, a photo of Trista’s back. “She’s the love of my life and my best friend. I can’t imagine loving her more or more tenderly. But I guess we’ll find out… I miss her already.”
In the first post, he tagged his wife and wrote “#love” and “#sadaplače”.

“I’m thinking so much about this friend and rooting for him right now! 👊🏻❤️,” fellow Bachelor Nation star Molly Mesnick wrote in the comments of the post.
Ryan also posted a black-and-white photo of the entire family on the same day, writing about how strong Trista was being away from her children on Mother’s Day. Trista commented on that post with emoticons.
The couple was last seen together in public in January, when they made a rare appearance with their children on The Golden Bachelor wedding of Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist.
