Ryan Toby News

Many people still remember the great performance of Ryan Toby (@ryantobyryan) in the 1993 movie “Sister Act 2”. Everyone remembers the scene in the school choir when he killed him during the performance of the song “Oh Happy Day” in which he played the gifted Ahmal in class.

Furthermore, he continued to achieve immense fame throughout his career as a result of his singing and songwriting talents. We also know him as a member of City High, a Grammy nominated band. In 2001, they released “Caramel” and “What Would You Do”, two of his most popular songs.

Since then, Ryan has written and produced music for several of the top acts in the business, including Usher, Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown, Will Smith, and many others. In addition to collaborating with some of his artists, he will also be releasing his own songs. We caught up with him to find out more about his upcoming projects, his thoughts on contemporary R&B, whether he thinks City High will ever reunite, and more.

One of my favorite on-set memories is when Whoopie stood up for me when the producers refused to give me days off to recuperate after I sprained my ankle during the last week of filming. HA HA HA. Whoopie had none of it!
