The 25-year-old pop star took to Instagram to confirm fan speculation that she wears a wig on stage while performing Short and sweet concert tour.
On Sunday, October 6, Carpenter made a bold move, reposting a video from Hacks star Megan Stalter in which the actress mocks all the discourse surrounding the pop star’s hairstyle. “Woman tells life partner about Sabrina Carpenter haircut,” she captioned the parody.
“Honey, honey, I can’t tell if she’s wearing a hair clip,” Stalter says in the clip, looking off camera. “No, I can’t tell if it’s a wig or a hair clip.”
She continued: “Because I thought, she’s so hot from concerts that she’s probably wearing a wig, but the bangs look so real so I thought maybe it was just a piece of hair.”

Since Carpenter kicked off her tour on September 23, her on-stage hairstyles have fueled rumors that her voluminous blonde locks are actually a wig.
“Does Sabrina Carpenter wear a wig?” TikTok creator @stay.in.the.know wrote a clip that has garnered 2 million views. In the video, A girl meets the world alum dances to her song “Good Graces.”

In the comments, users were quick to theorize that Carpenter may be wearing wigs to protect her real hair throughout the tour.
“These are either extensions (most likely) or something called a falle which is like a half wig and starts right after her bangs. All of this is to protect her hair for her long tour!” one offered.
Another said: “I think she wears it but that’s ok! It protects her real hair from damage!”

Carpenter’s tour kicked off in Columbus, Ohio and will visit cities across the US and Canada, including New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, Toronto, Austin and more. Her album, Short and sweetdebuted on Friday, August 23.

The star also recently hit back at accusations that she doesn’t sing live.
Recently, a TikTok user commented on another person’s post asking about their concert experience and whether Carpenter was actually singing live, according to Pop Base.
The comment read: “I don’t want to say it but 30% lip singing, 30% backing track 40% singing.”
The “espresso singer” quickly responded, commenting: “I sing live at every show 100%. Want to talk to my audio engineers?”
