Profession
In 2010, he joined Dronacharya Boxing Club in Faridabad, Haryana and started training in Taekwondo. However, his coaches Rajiv Godara and Jai Bhagwan advised him to continue boxing training.

He then started boxing training and won various medals in district-level boxing competitions. Sagar won a bronze medal in the Haryana Professional Boxing Championships (2013) and won another bronze medal at the 48th Senior Men’s Haryana Boxing Championship. In 2016, he won the best boxer award and gold medal at the International Country Boxing Championships. Sagar has won various boxing championships such as Boxing Series, Pro Boxing Fight Night, and Super League. He also represented OPM Punjab Sultan in Super Boxing League Season 1 (2017).

On October 13, 2017, he defeated Filipino boxer Jun Maamo at the Bakbakan Saadlaw San Calbayog International Championships in the Philippines, winning the Iron Man title in his first international competition. He won the WBC Asian Intercontinental Championship at The Punch 7 (2021). When talking about the match in an interview, he said it was the biggest match of his life. Commenting on his victory, Arif Khan, owner of “Boxing” said:

Sagar has competed in various Super Boxing Leagues. In an interview, while sharing his experience in the Super Boxing League, he said,
During my time in the SBL, one of my fights was against a great Army boxer who had won a lot of professional fights in the past and I was a nobody at the time. By dodging his violent swings, landing well-timed punches, and constantly calming myself down, I was finally able to defeat him. That’s when I got the name “The Sher.” I love this name given to me by my boxing brothers and I hope to continue to do it justice in the future. “
