On December 13, 2023, Sagar Sharma and a man named D. Manoranjan jumped from a public gallery into the Lok Sabha chamber during zero hour, releasing yellow smoke from a canister and Shouting slogans. Meanwhile, two other persons involved were creating a nuisance outside Parliament by shouting slogans such as “tanashahi nahi chalegi”. The incident occurred on the 22nd anniversary of the 2001 attack on parliament. The charges filed include Sections 16 (punishment for acts of terrorism) and 18 (punishment for conspiracy, etc.) of UAPA and Sections 120B (conspiracy to commit crime), 452 (trespass), 153 (intentional Intentional provocation) to cause a disturbance), 186 (obstructing a public servant from the performance of his official duties) and 353 (assault or criminal force to prevent a public servant from performing his official duties).
