Sakshi Reddy Murder Case
On May 28, 2023, a 16-year-old girl named Sakshi Reddy was mercilessly murdered by Sahil in Shahbad Dairy police station area of Rohini, Delhi. In the brutal attack, Sahil first stabbed Sakshi more than 20 times before picking up a concrete block and smashing her head. He hit Sakshi six times on the head. Although many passers-by witnessed the incident, no one came to Sakshi’s rescue. The incident was recorded on a nearby CCTV camera. Sahil fled the scene and returned home after committing the crime. He left his phone at home and walked towards Kashmiri Gate bus stand from where he took a bus to his aunt (Bua) Shamim’s house. After reaching his aunt’s house, Sahil called his mother and described the entire incident to her. Immediately after the incident, the police rushed Sakshi to the hospital where she was declared dead. Apparently, the incident took place when Sakshi was on her way to the market to bring a gift for her friend Neetu’s son. According to reports, she has been staying at Neetu’s house for the past 15 days as her husband is out of town for work. According to some sources, Sakshi was in a relationship with Sahil and the two recently broke up and got into a fight on May 27, 2023. Their quarrel angered Sahil so much that he made up his mind to kill Sakshi. After preliminary investigation into the case, Special Inspector Dependra Pathak of Delhi Police said:
According to current information, they (Sahil-Sakshi) knew each other but had some quarrels or parted ways. The accused (Sahil) committed this heinous murder out of spite. This is a crime of passion. Further investigation is ongoing. “
Sakshi’s father registered a case under Section 32 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code at Shahbad Dairy police station. Apparently, Sakshi’s mother demanded death penalty for Sahil.

Delhi Police started searching for Sahil soon after a case was registered against him at Shahbad Dairy police station. Police raided Sahil’s home, the homes of his friends and relatives. Sahil was arrested from Aterna village in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district on May 29, 2023, after the Delhi Police traced a phone call from Sahil’s aunt to his father.

- According to some reports, Sahil and his family lived on the ground floor of a rented house in Jain Colony, Praadpur, Rohini, Delhi. Apparently, he was staying with his family in Shahbad Dairy area two years ago. However, he was banished from the area due to frequent fights.
