Salima Tete made her debut with the Indian women’s national team in 2016. In 2017, she represented the Indian team in the 7th Junior National Hockey Championship held in Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu. Salima represented the Jharkhand hockey team and eventually won the championship. In 2018, Salima was appointed captain of the Indian hockey team for the Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Indian team won the silver medal in the final of the tournament. In 2021, she will represent India at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. In 2022, Salima Tait was part of the Indian team that participated in the Women’s International Hockey Federation Hockey Nations Cup in Valencia, Spain. India defeated Spain 1-0 in the final to win the championship. In the same year, she represented India at the 22nd Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England. The Indian team won the bronze medal in the final of the tournament.
In 2022, Salima participated in the Women’s Hockey Asia Cup in Muscat, Oman, where the Indian Hockey team won the bronze medal.
In 2023, she represented India at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. The Indian hockey team defeated Japan with a score of 2-1 to win the bronze medal in this tournament.
In the same year, Salima Tait participated in the seventh Women’s Asian Champions Cup held in Ranchi, India. The Indian hockey team defeated the Japanese team 4-0 in the final to win the championship.
In 2023, Sangeeta also represented the Railway Sports Promotion Council hockey team in the 3rd Indian Senior Women’s Hockey National Championship and won a silver medal.

- Salima Tete’s father Sulakshan Tete has been a defender for many years and made sure his daughters also took up the sport. Her father trained her in early hockey with bats made from Sharifah trees.
- Salima loves to eat Rajma Chawal made by her mother and whenever Salima comes home from hockey games, she asks her mother to make it.
- In 2021, Sangeeta got a job as a Grade III employee with the Indian Railways and she also became a part of the South Eastern Railway hockey team as well as the Railway Sports Promotion Council hockey team.
