Bowen married his wife a long time ago, but nothing is known about her because she preferred to stay out of the limelight. In their marriage, they had three children: two boys, Harry and Jarrod, and a girl, Ella. Their marriage, however, did not last long and ended in divorce when Jarrod was only 10 years old. Although his ex-wife is out of the limelight, she is just as important to Jarrod’s successful football career as he is. Jarrod says his mother used to drive him up and down the highway and he owes them a lot, especially because of where he is now.

Sam would have played in the Premier League if Merthyr Tydfil had not turned down an offer from West Ham United manager Harry Redknapp. According to Jarrod, Redknapp, who was the manager of West Ham United at the time, put his father Sam on trial. He went on trial and Redknapp wanted to sign him, but the club turned him down and he spent the rest of his career in non-league. Jarrod recalled his father telling him that West Ham were trying to sign him, but because Merthyr wanted a big fee and he refused, he ended up leaving on a free the following year.
He is a role model for his child
Away from football, his son Jarrod considers him a role model. He used to be the manager of a local boys’ team. When Jarrod had a lot of setbacks in his football journey and thought about giving up, he instilled in him the philosophy of perseverance and not giving up and was very influential. According to Jarrod, the most difficult aspect of his career was being rejected by Cardiff when he was 16.
He worked for non-league Hereford for six months without pay as the club was struggling with finances and a scholarship for a young team at the time. It was after that, he told his father, and he begged him to stick to it. Not only that, but Sam helped Jarrod bulk up by having him push a wheelbarrow full of cement around the potato fields since the minor leagues didn’t have a gym or regimen for that.

Jarrod is currently dating former Love Island contestant Dani Dyer. In 2021, the couple publicly announced their romance. There were rumors about their engagement, but Jarrod clarified that they were not true. He said he is not engaged and has no idea where the rumors of their engagement came from. He might ask a question sooner or later, but he’s not engaged right now. Jarrod has a strong bond with his future father-in-law Danny, who is also a fan of Jarrod’s.

Jarrod grew up a Manchester United fan. David Beckham was his hero. He claims that he now has a better understanding of football and the way he plays. Sam wants to play more like Lionel Messi, and his game is built on what he does, so he can incorporate some of that into his game. He is often compared to Daniel Craig. Jarrod isn’t sure, but believes it’s simply the eyes. He is terrified of spiders. He is also afraid of snakes. Pizza is his favorite food to take out. He used to like pizza with pepperoni, but now he prefers pizza with ham and mushrooms.
