Biography/Wiki

Sambit Patra was born on 13 December 1974 in Dhanbad, Jharkhand (49 years old; as of 2023). He received his education at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Bokaro. He pursued his bachelor’s degree in internal medicine from VSS Medical College and Hospital and further completed his master’s degree in general surgery (MS) from SCB Medical College, Cuttack in 2002. Subsequently, he cleared the UPSC Allied Medical Services Examination and was appointed as Delhi Hindu Rao Hospital As a medical professional. He is the founder of Swaraj, an NGO working for the liberation of Dalits. In 2011, he was appointed as the national spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party and continues to serve today. During the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Patra emerged as the face of the BJP for supporting its views across the country.

Profession

Sambit Patra was an excellent student and a persuasive speaker since childhood. While serving as medical officer at Hindu Rao Hospital, Patra founded Swaraj, an NGO in 2006 that works closely with improving health and education standards for Dalits in Odisha and Chhattisgarh. In 2011, Patra resigned as medical officer of Hindu Rao Hospital and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. In 2012, he contested on the BJP ticket from Kashmir Gate but failed. His quick response to any fact or situation supported his point of view in a deft way was his gift. To this end, he was highly recognized by the party and was elected as the national spokesperson of the BJP in 2011. Since then, he has been representing the views of the BJP on various platforms, including debates and speeches. He is often seen taking to Twitter to point out illegal acts and atrocities of the Congress party. He currently serves as an independent board member of Oil and Gas Limited.
