Sameer Khakhar (1952-2023) was an Indian actor. He has appeared in many Hindi films and television shows. He rose to fame in 1986 after playing the role of Khopdi in DD National’s television show “Nukkad”. He died in a Mumbai hospital in 2023 due to multiple organ failure.

In 2014, he played the supporting role of Alpesh Bhai in the Hindi romantic comedy film “Hasee Toh Phasee”. In the same year, he played the role of an alcoholic in the Hindi political action film “Jai Ho” starring Salman Khan and Tabu. In 2017, he starred in the Hindi romantic comedy film “Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi”. The Hindi film “Pataakha” was his last film. The film was released in 2018 and he played the role of Sarpanch in the film.

He died of multiple organ failure on March 15, 2023, at MM Hospital in Borivali, Mumbai. He reportedly suffered respiratory issues before being admitted to a Mumbai hospital.

- In 1985, he appeared in the drama production “Chhunn Chhhun Karti Aai Chidiya” directed by Amjad Khan’s brother Imtiaz Khan. He acted in theater productions with Amjad Khan.
- In an interview, he revealed that before appearing in Nukkad, he had been involved in theater productions.
- He reportedly took a break from acting and moved to the United States. In the United States, he worked as a software engineer; however, he lost his job in 2008. Later, he returned to India and started acting in theater productions. He has acted in 3 Gujarati dramas.
- In May 2017, he appeared in a TV commercial for Cricbuzz mobile app along with Lopamudra Raut.
- In an interview, he revealed that he was an avid smoker.
