Sammie Okposo A Gospel Singer Passed Away At The Age Of 51

Sammie Okposo, a Nigerian gospel singer, died on Friday, November 25, at the age of 51. His death was verified by his project manager, Hillary Vincent, to The Punch.

“That is correct. It occurred this morning.”

His death was also confirmed in an official statement issued by his family and signed by Hecter Okposo:

“I announce the death of our dear husband, father, brother, uncle, Minister of God, Sammie Okposo, with a sorrowful heart but absolute obedience to God.”

The message also added that the singer’s funeral arrangements would be “communicated shortly” and asked that Okposo’s family be allowed to mourn in peace:

“We are comforted because we know he is singing with angels with Jesus.” We respectfully urge that the family be allowed to mourn in peace at this time.”

Although no specific cause of death has been stated, according to PM News, the performer collapsed and died after having a heart attack. Okposo came dangerously near to death in May 2020 when the propeller shaft of his automobile detached while the vehicle was in motion. He praised Jesus for being his “savior, deliverer, guardian, and shield” during the moment, and stated the “devil and his henchmen” had failed to harm him.
