Sandeep Nahar was an Indian film actor, known for films such as MS Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016) and Kesari (2019). He died by suicide in February 2021 and blamed his wife as the main reason for his suicide.

Sandeep Nahar was born on Friday, December 25, 1987 (age 33 at the time of his death) in Kalka, Haryana. His star sign is Capricorn. He attended PC Higher Secondary School in Pinjore and later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Punjab, Chandigarh. At the age of 25, Sandeep moved to Mumbai to pursue his passion for acting.

He made his Bollywood debut in the biopic MS Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016), in which he essayed the role of “Param Bhaiya” (Dhoni’s Sikh friend).
After that, Sandeep played the role of Buta Singh, a Sikh fighter in the battalion of Havildar Ishar Singh (played by Akshay Kumar) in the period drama film Kesari which released in 2019.
He has also acted in several other Bollywood films, including as Deepu Palta in Khandaani Shafakhana (2019) and as ‘Mangal’ in Shukranu (2020).

On February 15, 2020, Sandeep Nahar committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence in Goregaon, Mumbai. According to the initial police report, his wife Kanchan Sharma found him hanging from a ceiling fan and rushed him to SRV Hospital, Mumbai, where doctors declared him brought dead. A few hours before his suicide, Sandeep posted a video with a suicide note on his Facebook profile (in the caption). In the video and the suicide note, he revealed his dissatisfaction with his married life and the constant torture he suffered from his wife and mother-in-law. He held his wife and mother-in-law responsible for his extreme measures. He also briefly mentioned politics. The following is a paragraph from the suicide note left by Sandeep.
“I have experienced a lot of happiness and sadness in my life. I have faced every problem, but the trauma I am going through today is unbearable. I wanted to commit suicide a long time ago, but I chose to give myself time, hoping that my relationship with my wife would improve, but it didn’t. I have nowhere to go now. I don’t know what awaits me after taking this step, but I have been through hell in this life. I know that suicide is an act of cowardice. I have to live, but what’s the point of living like this, without peace and self-respect.”

As a result, the Mumbai police filed a case of “abetment to suicide” against Sandeep’s wife and mother-in-law.

- During his growing up years in Mumbai, Sandeep worked as a model and took part in several modelling stints that involved catwalks.
- He has also appeared as a model in several Punjabi songs, including “Propose” (2012) and “Risky”.
