Sandeep Singh’s full name is Sandeep Singh Bhinder. He is also known as Flick Singer. He is a 37-year-old former Indian hockey player who was born on February 27, 1986 in a Punjabi family in Shahabad, Haryana, India. He completed his education at Chabad, Haryana and later received his BA from Kurukshetra University. He is also a student of Khalsa College, Patiala. He has been passionate about playing hockey since he was a child and was fascinated by his brother’s hockey equipment and clothing.

Sandeep Singh learned to play hockey from his elder brother Bikramjeet Singh and started playing for the domestic hockey team. In 2004, he made his international debut at the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Kuala Lumpur. He performed well with the Indian hockey team, but a shooting incident in August 2006 forced him to stay in bed for several months. These were the darkest days of his life, but he was eager to return to the Indian team. In 2008, he returned to fitness and made a comeback in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup, where he became the top scorer with 9 goals. In 2009, he became the captain and in the same year India won the Sultan Azlan Shah Trophy under his leadership. In 2012, he broke Dhanraj Pillay’s record for most goals (121). He contested the 2019 Haryana Assembly elections from Kurukshetra Pekhova constituency and defeated his nearest rival Congress MP Mandeep Singh Chatta by 5,314 votes.

Lawsuit filed for harassment of woman
On December 30, 2022, the Chandigarh police filed a case against a female youth track and field coach for harassing him. She said he began harassing her in February 2022. She also said he frequently messaged her on social media and even touched her inappropriately. At a press conference held at the INLD office, she demanded her resignation as Haryana sports minister. she says,
He messaged me on Instagram saying that my National Games certificate was pending and wanted to meet about this issue. Unfortunately, my certificate was lost by my federation and I have been dealing with the matter with the appropriate authorities. “
Later, Sandeep resigned as Haryana Sports Minister. He denied all the accusations in interviews and said it was just an attempt to damage his image.
