Sandra Lee is safe after coming close to Thursday’s mass shooting in downtown Prague, PEOPLE confirms.

Ten people have reportedly been killed in a shooting in the Czech Republic, according to initial reports from the Associated Press. The New York times and Reuters.

Lee, 57, and her boyfriend Ben Youcef were on holiday in the city as part of a larger trip to Europe for the holidays. The Food Network alum updated her fans on Instagram after news of the shooting broke.

“We are safe, but it’s shocking how fast the world can turn. We were less than 3 blocks from the scene of the shooting,” she wrote alongside a photo in Prague with Youcef (44). “We had so many conversations about how safe Prague /was. This is just shocking. We are stunned and send all our love to everyone in Prague.”

“Live every day to the fullest,” she added. – Life is precious.

Lee’s Instagram post comes just two days after she documented their time in Prague, the last stop of their European getaway. In the description, she told something about their journey and revealed that she had wanted to travel to Prague for a long time because her grandfather was Czech.

The shooting began on December 21 shortly after 3 p.m. local time, Reuters reports.

In addition to ten dead, 30 people were wounded in the shooting, reports AP. Czech police said the attacker had been killed and that no other attackers were believed to be involved, the paper also reported.

Reuters also reports that nine of the 30 or so other people wounded in Thursday’s shooting are being treated for serious injuries.

Mayor of Prague Bohuslav Svoboda chirped that there are “no words” to describe Thursday’s shooting.

“I have no words. All I feel at this moment is sadness,” the mayor wrote, according to an English translation on social network X (formerly Twitter).

“As the mayor of Prague, I have to react. And to convince the citizens of Prague that they are safe,” wrote Svoboda. “We are witnessing a tragedy of unprecedented proportions. It is terrible how many innocent lives have been lost. My deepest condolences to all the bereaved. We must not give in to evil!”
