Sanjay Goradia is an Indian actor, director and producer who has produced and appeared in more than a hundred Gujarati dramas. He has also acted in several Hindi and Gujarati films and has produced many television shows (Hindi and Gujarati).

Sanjay Goradia was born on Thursday, September 17, 1959, in Delwada, Gujarat (age 64; as of 2023). His zodiac sign is Virgo. He attended Lilavati Lalji Dayal High School in Mumbai. He is a graduate. Sanjay was born in Gujarat but moved to Mumbai as a child. He lives in a cabin on the farm. His father was addicted to tobacco and alcohol and would fight every day, which had a great impact on Sanjay. His tuition fees were sometimes not paid on time and his uniform was never clean. Sanjay faced many difficulties since his childhood. He mentioned in an interview that he had a sister who died when she was two years old. His brother Paresh also died when he was 16 or 17 years old. When Sanjay was only 18, his father suffered a stroke. After his father passed away, they managed their expenses through the family-owned Ayurveda store. It is located on the main road below Lalbagh Jam Factory. Sanjay’s uncle Ramesh looks after the shop and helps with their expenses. While life was difficult at home, his youngest brother began drinking heavily. He often asked his mother for money. After learning about the situation at home, he started working in a pharmacy. In 1979, he started acting and sending money to his family. He wanted to act, but due to financial conditions and lack of connections in the industry, he started working in the background. He didn’t seriously pursue acting because he thought good-looking people struggled, so he might not stand a chance.

Sanjay’s theater journey began in 1979 when he worked behind the scenes for the play “Pagla Ghoda” directed by Latesh Shah and performed at Elphinstone College. Sanjay remained committed to behind-the-scenes work and was promoted from production manager to producer. He used to play small roles in some plays and when he found financial support, he started producing plays. Thereafter, he had the opportunity to serve as Shafi Inandar’s assistant. They teamed up to create many Gujarati dramas.

  • His first successful Hindi drama was Maa Retire Hoti Hai in 1999, which brought him a lot of fame. After this blow, he bought a house and soon married the first girl he met. When his son was born, he bought a new house in Lokhandwala. He invited his mother to live with them, but she insisted that he take his younger brother with him. Sanjay hesitates to take his addicted brother with him.
