Santosh Shobhan made his debut as a child actor in 2011, playing the role of Gowtham in the Telugu film Golconda High School.
In 2014, he starred in the Telugu film Bangaru Kodipetta, playing the supporting role of Venu. In 2015, he appeared in the Telugu film Thanu Nenu, playing the role of Kiran.

His father Shobhan is a famous producer and actor in the entertainment industry, his uncle Lakshmipathi is also an actor in Telugu films and another uncle is a co-director in Telugu films. One of his aunts is a singer. In an interview, Santosh spoke about his family and their association with the film industry and said:
My father was the first in our family to enter the industry and my uncle Lakshmipathi entered the film industry soon after him. My father worked with RGV and Krishna Vamsi in his early years. Another uncle is now a co-director; my aunt is a singer and we, as a family, are involved in the media industry in one form or another. However, our dinner conversation wasn’t all about the movie.
- Santosh Shobhan says he is the most educated member of the family. In an interview, Santosh talked about his family and said that none of his parents, brothers and uncles hold any college degree and he is the only one in his family who holds a college degree. He said,
It’s funny, but I have to tell you, I was the first person in my family to get a degree – none of us including my mom, dad, brother, uncle graduated. We knew we were going to be part of the industry in some form. I still don’t consider myself a hero. Neither of us thought we needed backup. I finished school because my mom wanted at least one degree in the family (laughs). Neither of us brothers were good at anything else. We had no safety net, but when we entered this industry we gave it our all. “
