Sara Sharif's killer dad 'terrified' of returning to his cell after lags slashed his neck with jagged lid of a tuna tin

The killer dad of 10-year-old Sara Sharif is “terrified” of returning to his cell – fearing he will be targeted again after being slashed with a jagged tuna can lid.

Monster Urfan Sharif, 43 – who was jumped in his cell by two inmates who slashed his throat and face – fears that other stragglers will try to launch a copycat attack.

The criminal, who was attacked on New Year’s Day, was treated at HMP Belmarsh in south London, where he is being held following a manslaughter conviction.

A source said: “Sharif was undergoing treatment and was lucky to survive.

“He has not yet returned to the wing and may need to be placed in solitary confinement for his own safety.

“There is talk that others will try another attack – he has a target on his back because of who he is and what he has done.

“He’s always going to be looking over his shoulder and, if anything, he’s an even bigger target now.

“The other prisoners will not stop because he was attacked once.

“Just look at people like Ian Huntley, who is another child killer and has been attacked multiple times inside.

“That’s the position Sharif is in now and it won’t stop overnight.

“The prison and its staff will do everything they can to keep him safe – and that could include seclusion for his own good.

“But you can’t do that forever and he won’t be able to run away from other prisoners endlessly.”

Sharif was last month jailed for at least 40 years for killing the innocent Sara in a two-year “campaign of torture” in which she was beaten, burned and bitten.

He was jailed along with Sarah’s stepmother Beinash Batool (30) and uncle Faisal Malik (29), who was convicted of allowing the child’s death.

Unsurprisingly, the rough-and-tumble Urfan Sharif is being targeted just weeks after his life sentence.

The scum attacked Sara’s daughter with a cricket bat and a metal pole, burned her with an iron and strangled her. He even forced her to wear a diaper and sit in her own urine and feces for hours.

Sharif is believed to have jet-washed the 10-year-old’s body. Nothing could have prepared me for watching a father admit to the torture he put his own daughter through.

He still couldn’t bring himself to confess to the murder.

I watched as Sharif spent six days lying on the witness stand. He pretended to be the innocent victim of “psycho” woman Beinash Batool.

True, she is a psychopath. And he is worse than a monster.

He abused three previous partners before taking his anger out on his girlfriend.

It was clear that he never cared about Sara either when she was alive or dead.

Now no one but the prison guards can watch over him.

Former taxi driver Sharif was attacked by two inmates at HMP Belmarsh in south London and was treated in the prison’s health unit.

Our source added: “Sharif was hit in a planned attack.

“The two people who caught him will be moved, and this is even a possibility for Sharif.

“But if he is moved, he will face the same problems elsewhere.

“Sara’s stepmother will also be petrified in her prison – and even more so when she hears what happened to him.

“He was cut on the neck and face and was in a very bad condition after the attack.

“He was lucky to survive, he needed stitches and will have scars as a permanent reminder of the attack.

“Sharif has been trying to keep his head down since coming to prison, but word quickly got out about who he was.

“The prisoners were not happy that he was there with them and, although the other prisoners were convicted of heinous crimes, many of them do not like people who attack children.

“A lot of them say it couldn’t have happened to a more deserving guy.”

Police were called in after the attack on Sharif – convicted of murder last month after a trial that horrified Britain – and are investigating.

Belmarsh Category A houses a large number of murderers and terrorists, including Ali Harbi Ali, the killer of MP David Amess.

Other prisoners include ‘Grindr killer’ Stephen Port, ‘Night Stalker’ rapist Delroy Grant and Danyal Hussein who killed two sisters in a London park.

Sarah’s mother Olga Domin, 38, lost a court battle to keep her daughter from the clutches of Sharif, who used EU rules to stay in the UK and cheat social services.

The Old Bailey case was told how Sara suffered multiple injuries, including human bite marks, iron burns and hot water burns before she died in August 2023.

The evil authorities missed at least 15 opportunities to return Sara to a safe home before she was beaten to death.

And tragic Sara was forced to wear a hijab to cover her injuries, even though no one else in the family wore Islamic clothing.

Batool often called Sharif from work saying that Sara was mean, knowing that he would beat her up.

Taxi driver Sharif choked Sara and beat her with a cricket bat and a metal pole, sometimes tying her hands and feet with duct tape.

Police found her in a bunk bed in the family’s cramped home in Woking, Surrey.

An autopsy revealed that Sara had suffered 25 fractures and 71 external injuries, including bite marks and iron burns.

Sharif left a handwritten note next to his daughter’s body that read: “Whoever sees this message, I am Urfan Sharif who beat my daughter to death.”

The thief then fled the country to Pakistan with Batool and Faisal Malik, 29, who lived with the couple.

They were found – along with Sarah’s five siblings – in a family shelter in East Pakistan and brought back to the UK after a police and Interpol operation.

Sharif was sentenced to life in prison for the murder and must serve at least 40 years for the murder.

Batool was sentenced to a minimum sentence of 33 years after he was also found guilty of murder.

During the trial, Sharif blamed the attacks on “evil psychopath” Batool – before dramatically admitting to hitting Sara with a cricket bat and a pole and eventually killing her.

Malik was sentenced to 16 years in prison for causing or allowing the death of a child.

15 missed opportunities to save the tragic Sara

JANUARY 2013: Sara is placed under a child protection plan at birth as Urfan Sharif is accused of assaulting three women, including her mother, as well as hitting and biting two children.

But she was allowed to stay with her father.

FEBRUARY 22, 2013: A month after Sarah’s birth, social services and the police were told that Sharif had slapped the child in the face.

Nothing was done.

MAY 7, 2013: A social worker noticed a burn on a child’s leg.

Sharif did not report the incident and claimed it was a barbecue accident. Nothing was done.

OCTOBER 7, 2013: A child was seen with a burn caused by a household iron.

Sharif told social services that the child ran into the device.

No action was taken.

2013 TO 2014: The child told the social worker that Sharif broke the TV and hit Sarah’s mother, Olga.

NOVEMBER 2014: Sara was accepted into a foster family after the child told a social worker about the bite mark.

But she later returned to live with her father after a family court hearing in October 2019, where social services recommended that Sara live with her father because that was her wish.

JANUARY 2015: Sharif was reported to social services for brandishing a knife in what he said was a zombie game at home.

Social workers noticed that Sharif was hitting and kicking Olga at home and threatened to kill himself.

FEBRUARY 2015: The child told their foster carer that Sharif used to hit them on the bottom with a belt.

In September of that year, the child was heard saying to Sharif: “When you’re at home, you hit and kick me every day.”

2015: Olga told social services that Sharif tightened a belt around her neck.

Around this time, social workers complained that Sharif was being coercive and degrading towards them.

Then a male social worker was appointed to the family.

DECEMBER 2016: The child told the social worker that he did not like Sharif because he hit them all over the body and left them with a lot of bruises.

Social workers saw Sara flinch when Sharif told her during supervised contact and appeared surprised when he fondled her.

6 JUNE 2022: Sara was reported by a teacher to have a bruise under her eye, using the school’s online child protection monitoring system.

Sara didn’t want to say what happened at first, before later saying she was hit by another child.

But the social service was not contacted.

MARCH 10, 2023: Teacher saw bruises on Sarah’s face.

Sara said she fell on roller skates.

When she gave another story about the guard, the school referred social services.

Six days later, social services decided not to take any further steps.

It is understood that at this point there has been no contact between social services and Sara’s family for four years.

Social services categorized this case as second priority and requested information from other agencies.

When nothing came back, the case was closed.

MARCH 20, 2023: A report was logged in the school’s internal system after Sarah’s stepmother Beinash Batool overheard her calling the children “mother, f***ing sister, cu**** and whore” on the playground.

But no details were passed on to social services.

MARCH 28, 2023: Batool claimed that the mark on Sarah’s face was caused by a pencil.

The teacher told the school guard.

APRIL 17, 2023: Sharif has decided to homeschool Sara.

School staff called the council for advice and were told they should provide a referral if there were any concerns.

The staff saw Sara later that day on the school drop off and she seemed fine so they decided to drop it, even though she had been beaten up earlier that day.

She was never seen outside the house again.

After the case, Olga (38) called her girlfriend’s killers “bloodthirsty” and said that Sharif had been manipulating the police and social services for years.

And she said: “It took the death of my little girl for people to realize that he is evil.”

In an impact statement, Olga told Sharif and Batool: “You are sadists, although even this word is not enough for you. I would say you are executioners.”

Olga had been living with Sara since 2015, but a family court hearing four years later decided she should stay with her dad.

Olga told The Sun after the case: “So many women tried but our voices were never heard because he manipulated everyone.

“I never hurt my children. He lied and lied, and my daughter was put to death.”

The Old Bailey judge, Mr. Justice Cavanagh said Sara had suffered “unimaginable pain, misery and anguish” in the repeated attacks that led to her death.

A Prison Service spokesman said: “Police are investigating an assault on a prisoner at HMP Belmarsh on January 1.

“It would be inappropriate to comment further while they investigate.”

The Met Police said they were investigating an alleged attack on January 1 where “a 43-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries”.
