Urgent hunt for gunman after three women caught in crossfire as shots fired from car – The Sun

Police launched an emergency investigation after three women were caught in the crossfire following “shots fired from a car”.

Emergency services took the victims to hospital after the horror which happened on Frederick Street in Wolverhampton at around 11pm yesterday.

West Midlands Police confirmed that one woman is still in hospital.

She is in a stable condition, while the other two victims have since been released from the hospital.

Officers are now combing through hours of CCTV amid their search.

They have launched an urgent appeal for any information regarding the suspected shooter.

A police spokesman said: “An investigation has been launched after three people were injured in Wolverhampton yesterday (September 27).

“We received reports of a shooting from a car on Frederick Street around 11 p.m.

“Three women were transported to the hospital. Two women have since been discharged. The third woman remains in hospital in stable condition.

“We are carrying out CCTV trawling – and other inquiries – to identify those involved.

“We are working to establish why this happened and would ask anyone with information to speak to us.

“This kind of violence is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

“We will have an increased presence in the area to reassure the local community.
