If you couldn’t help but wonder why Sarah Jessica Parker’s latest outfit is on set And just like that… looked so familiar, it’s because you’ve seen it before.
The actress was spotted on the set of the 3rd season Sex and the city reboot in New York on August 28, wearing clothes coded from the 2000s from the show’s fashion archives.
On set, Parker (as Carrie Bradshaw) wore a flowing sheer Chanel blouse covered in colorful motifs, including hearts with the label’s double “C” logo.
The blouse went in first SATC universe on September 24, 2000, when the episode “Hot Kid in Town” aired for the first time.

Back then, Carrie paired the piece with a pair of purple tie-up capris, a turquoise bandana around her ponytail, and lively ankle strap loafers. With a striking Chanel top, the whole look was truly memorable, often included in previews of quintessential Carrie Bradshaw style moments.
In its new life, however, the shirt is tempered by a purple drop-waist skirt and strappy chartreuse heels.
When PEOPLE talked to AJLT costume designers, Molly Rogers and Danny Santiago, when the show debuted in December 2021, the duo revealed how they wanted to dress present-day Carrie.
“I think one of the biggest things that was important for Carrie’s look on this new show was to continue to mix high and low, vintage and thrifty because that’s kind of the DNA of the original show. Carrie’s never been in — maybe a few times — but never in a full runway look, it’s all about the combination of those great second-hand pieces and the modern piece,” Rogers said.
