Sarah Jessica Parker's Namesake Shoe Brand Is Set to Close This Fall After 10 Years

Sarah Jessica Parker’s shoe collection of the same name is coming to an end.

SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker will officially close this fall, according to a statement made to WWD and Footwear News on August 16.

“After 10 colorful years, SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker has made the difficult decision to close its doors this fall,” the brand said in a statement. “The SJP Collection team is extremely grateful to all of their loyal customers and supporters, as well as everyone they have worked with.”

The brand’s last remaining store in the US at Bleecker St. 385 in New York will close its doors on August 25. Online shopping will remain available until a date yet to be determined.

The brand still has physical locations in Dubai, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

Parker previously had stores in New York’s Seaport and a store on West 54th Street, which she first opened during the coronavirus pandemic before moving it to Bleecker Street.

The And just like that… the star first launched her brand in February 2014 alongside the late George Malkemus, the fashion business expert who helped catapult Manolo Blahnik shoes to popularity. He was the one who introduced Manolos to Parker before she even started acting Sex and the city. But telling the audience of millions that she had a “religious experience” in the Manolo Blahnik store on the show, she only confirmed that the shoe (and Malkemus) were fashion items.

That’s how her partnership with Malkemus was born, so it only made sense that when she wanted to launch her brand, she turned to a man who knew everything about shoes. The two worked together until Malkemus died in 2021.

Parker is known for wearing her own shoes on red carpets and appearing in her store to help customers with their purchases. Her storefront on Bleecker Street is right next door to Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment Sex and the citymaking it an easy stop if you’re touring filming locations.

Last October, Parker and her husband, Matthew Broderick, went on a night out at the New York City Ballet. The actress wore a wide shoulder dress by Carolina Herrera, as well as a pair of sandals from her collection, which are meant to be worn mismatched. While one of her open-toed heels was black, the other was mauve in color. However, both shoes had a diamond circle buckle on the top.
