Welcome to The A-List, where we review products that your favorite celebrities wear and use, and that we actually really love.
I’ve been obsessed with serums for a long time. At any given time, I’d roughly say there are at least 20 bottles and tubes in my skincare stash, waiting for their chance to be slathered on my face morning and night. Suffice to say, it can sometimes be difficult to decide which one rises to the top of the pile.
Lately, though, there’s only one that’s been making my heart flutter and my skin sing — and that’s the serum that Sarah Jessica Parker’s makeup artist used on her in the season 2 premiere And just like that…. Serum in question? Merit Great Skin Instant Glow Serum, which Elaine Offers Woulard applied to prep the actress’ skin. Bonus: It’s under $40.

Since my skin is on the drier side, I tend to use products that are formulated with moisturizing ingredients, which this serum has in abundance. Hyaluronic acid locks in hydration, niacinamide helps visibly brighten skin and refine texture, and cocoa bean extract (a caffeine-rich antioxidant) helps stimulate blood flow to plump skin.
The serum has a more watery texture than others I’ve tried, but it also has a more unique application process. Simply shake it to activate and mix the ingredients (you’ll notice they’re separated in the bottle beforehand), then pump it into your hand.
I squeeze two to three drops and massage all over my face, neck and décolleté in the morning, before applying moisturizer and sunscreen. Every time I use it, my skin is tighter, softer and brighter. My dryness is also almost gone, leaving the bouncing feeling behind.

I will say that it takes a little practice to keep the product from spraying everywhere, but if you use short, targeted pumps, the dispenser works well. And since only a small amount is needed, the bottle lasts forever. I have been using the serum for several months, and mine is still almost full.
It’s also racked up a ton of five-star reviews, so I’m definitely in good company. One reviewer said it “surprisingly softened the texture [their] skin” and added that it “provides a spa-like experience.”
“This product is divine,” wrote another customer. “My skin was dull and glowing, and I was actually naked all day, which I never do!”
If you’re obsessed with serums like I am, the Merit Great Skin Instant Glow Serum is worth adding to your daily skincare routine. Grab a bottle now for $38 and keep scrolling to shop more Merit products.
