Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. they enjoyed having fun with their children as they welcomed the new year.

The Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum (46) shared two posts full of exciting photos from a recent family vacation on Instagram.

“If I left you unread… Here’s why. Vacation photo shoot, part one,” she captioned her first photo gallery, complete with selfies and beach photos.

In the next post, she highlighted “Holiday Outpost #2 – Family & Friends,” where she showed a series of family photos with the couple and their children: Rocky James, 11, and Charlotte Grace, 14.

Over the summer, Gellar shared several photos on her Instagram Story from a family trip to Florence, Italy. In one photo, Rocky poses with his dad as they look over the fence.

In the second, Geller and Prinze Jr. are smiling with Charlotte on the Italian street. The actress also published an adorable photo with her entire family. “La mia famiglia a Firenze Italia,” she wrote over the picture, which translates to “My family in Florence, Italy.”

Although the famous couple is notoriously private, in 2020 Geller spoke to PEOPLE about helping her children with virtual learning amid the COVID-19 pandemic. While there have been challenges of their own, the star said she got through it “having compassion and understanding that there’s no manual on how to do this. None of us are perfect.”

“All we can do is the best we can and realize that maybe math or reading is not the same place our other kids were at this exact moment, but that their independence and their ability to turn around and be flexible is a life skill that will probably serve them even better than what they will learn in some of those lectures,” she added.
