Sarah Michelle Gellar maintains the summer atmosphere even in winter!
On Tuesday, the actress, 46, jokingly explained why she’s been a bit off the radar during the holiday season. She seems to have been enjoying a tropical holiday, where she wore a parade of stylish swimwear.
“If I left you unread… Here’s why. First part of vacation photos,” she captioned an Instagram post with a carousel of pictures documenting her fun in the sun.
She started with a photo of herself in an orange strappy swimsuit and a wide-brimmed hat. Another image captured her looking into the camera, her eyes hidden behind a pair of large black sunglasses. This time she wore a 60’s inspired two piece suit with a floral pattern.
In the second photo, Buffy the Vampire Slayer The alum wore a different bikini with a ruffled top in a lemon and orange citrus print. She also posed for a photo overlooking the ocean at sunset in white denim shorts and a navy button-up blouse with puff sleeves. Gellar wore her hair in a sleek bun and accessorized with flower earrings.

Mom of two children – she and husband Freddie Prinze Jr. they share daughter Charlotte, 14, and son Rocky, 11 – she also dug into some books during her holiday. Her photo carousel included a shot of an iced fruit drink next to a hardcover fantasy novel by Rebecca Yarros The fourth wing. It appears that Gellar was joined on vacation by several friends. On Wednesday, she posted “rogue #2” from the vacation on Instagram, including a photo of her and Rebecca Gayheart Dane posing with each other’s arms in swimsuits. Another picture shows her and Prinze, 47, having dinner with another couple.

The carousel also featured a rare family photo of Gellar, Prinze and their two children next to palm trees.
Back in October, Gellar recalled to PEOPLE another memorable vacation she once took — though this one was a little more unusual.
“When I was younger, I stayed in a haunted room at the Hotel del Coronado,” Gellar revealed, referring to the Coronado Beach Resort in California that opened in 1888. “Years ago, you could ask for a room and stay there.”
Despite the eerie setting, Gellar’s stay turned out to be surprisingly inconsequential. “Yes. My strange experience was that I slept through the night. I slept great – she recalled jokingly.
