Saurabh Mukherjea was born in India in 1976 (44 years old in 2020). His ancestral home is in Kolkata, West Bengal. At the age of fourteen, he moved with his family to the United Kingdom, where he completed his formal education. Saurabh attended St. Columba’s School in London. He graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics (First Class Honours) and a Master of Arts in Economics (Distinction in Macro and Microeconomics). Saurabh started his corporate career as a senior consultant at the London School of Economics from 1998 to 2000. He then worked as a consultant at Accenture Strategy Practice for three years. While in London, Saurabh co-founded Clear Capital, an investment-focused consultancy. He also served as the head of India Equities at Noble Group from 2003 to 2010. In 2010, he joined Ambit Capital (Mumbai) as CEO. Saurabh worked at Ambit Capital for seven years and resigned in 2018. When Saurabh left Ambit in June 2018, the firm’s advisory assets were estimated to be around $800 million. In August 2018, Saurabh founded Marcellus Investment Managers, an asset management firm based in Mumbai.
