The next day, on August 21, Savannah shared her thoughts on her mom being denied a virtual appearance at the September hearing — and made it clear she wasn’t too happy about the decision.

“For those wondering what’s going on right now…” she wrote. “The judge refused our request for my mother to attend her hearing via Zoom. When you are in prison it is VERY common to attend via Zoom.”

“What does this mean? My mother will be shackled and transported for the next month… by plane… by bus… etc. with MEN.. some [of] who are VIOLENT,” she continued. “I don’t know when I will hear from you next time. This sentence does NOT fit the alleged crime.”

Along with the headlines, Savannah shared an old photo of herself hugging Julie as a child, and a screenshot of a PEOPLE article revealing the judge’s denial. “Trust in God” by Elevation Worship was a song that played with Story.

After Todd and Julie Chrisley were convicted of tax evasion and fraud, they began serving prison terms — Todd to 12 years and Julie to eight — in January 2023. Todd’s sentence has since been reduced by two years, and Julie’s appeal was granted in June, canceling his sentence completely.

“The problem is that we did not find the evidence that the district court relied on in making that finding,” the justices wrote in the June 21 decision. “Our review of the record has revealed no evidence to show, even by a preponderance of the evidence, that [Julie] was included in 2006.”

“Indeed, the government’s brief concedes that the evidence shows that Julie ‘participated in a bank fraud conspiracy in 2007,’ not 2006,” it concluded.

The family matriarch is set to be resentenced in September, and Savannah is openly hoping it will result in Julie returning home.

“I’m going to do everything I can to help her get into the best place she could ever be,” she explained on a recent episode of her Unlocked podcast. “Because I can only imagine how he’s going to feel coming home, and it’s going to be devastating. And when I get the call that he can come home, I honestly don’t think I’m going to tell anyone.”

“It’s going to be a lot to be reintegrated back into things when you’re literally living in the same freaking room, 24 hours a day, 365 freaking days a year,” she added. “It’s going to be difficult for her. That worries me, but at the same time we all know we can do it.”
