Controversies
Slammed for click baits
The LaBrant Family has been slammed by their own fans numerous times for giving misleading titles to their YouTube videos and for oversharing details about their children.
‘WE LEFT OUR HOUSE BECAUSE OF FIRES IN CALIFORNIA’
In 2018, they were criticized for faking a fire evacuation, which was due to California’s worst wildfires that tragically killed more than 58 people in California, USA. They posted a YouTube video with the title WE LEFT OUR HOUSE BECAUSE OF FIRES IN CALIFORNIA after which they were accused of being cruel for downplaying the circumstance and for using a headline and a picture that suggested they had also been ordered to leave their house. The people in the comment section, who were residents of Ladera Ranch where LaBrants also lived, made it clear that the area wasn’t evacuated. After viewing the video, it was determined that nobody requested them to leave their home. They only left because their daughter Everleigh got scared of the fire. Many of the roughly five million viewers, who saw the video, ended up feeling perplexed and upset.
“She got diagnosed with Cancer”
On 28 August 2021, Sav and Cole posted a YouTube documentary titled ‘She got diagnosed with Cancer.’ In the video, they hinted that one of their daughters, Everleigh or Posie, was diagnosed with cancer; however, the video turned out to be clickbait. To attract more views to their video, they uploaded a thumbnail in which the LaBrant family was seen holding hands in their backyard. It was revealed in the video that none of their children was diagnosed with cancer, and it was about a four-year-old girl named Camilla, who was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma in 2020. They described their experience of learning that more families than they ever imagined have children with cancer. The viewers slammed the LaBrant Family for using a clickbait title just for fame.
Uploading a controversial documentary
On 9 April 2022, the couple posted a video on YouTube with the title ‘Abortion. (documentary)’ in which they were seen comparing the number of people who opted to have abortions with those who perished in the Holocaust. The video received more than two million views. In the video, they spoke with activists, professionals, and medical personnel about abortion. Cole and Savannah, who are well-known for posting family-friendly videos of their daily lives with their three children, stressed that they were “pro-love” rather than “pro-life” or “pro-choice.”

In the video, Savannah also shared her experience when she got pregnant at the age of 19 and said that although she was scared, she found the decision not to get an abortion ‘worth it.’
I remember just being so scared. I didn’t know what I was going to do. I was actually in college and I was too scared to tell my family.”
The couple shared the YouTube link of their video on Instagram, which was later taken down. Replying to this, Cole posted another story on Instagram in which he said,
Instagram did take our feed post down. This is ok, fortunately we have talked with our team at YouTube and they’re keeping the documentary up there, which is most important. They did demonetise and take the video out of the algorithm. Which is all ok, we assumed this would happen. The biggest thing this does is significantly reduce the video’s reach. The more people the video reaches, the more people who can find help. This makes it where you can really only watch the video if you have a link or go directly to our channel.”

The LaBrant Family received an award in the Kids and Family category at the 11th Annual Streamy Awards.

I dumped him, but we got back together when Everleigh was born. He promised me he’d changed, and I let myself believe him. He hadn’t changed. Within a matter of weeks after Everleigh was born, Tommy left me. Again. It wasn’t the last time. Tommy came back around whenever something big with Everleigh happened, like Christmas or a birthday. A lot of times I asked him to come back because I felt like our daughter needed her dad to be there. He came. He’d swear everything was going to be different this time. “Just give me another chance,” he’d say, and I always caved. I could not live with that, so Tommy and I would split up, again.”
